Description
This project explores the gender-crossing performances of Indigenous Tharu dancers in the Terai belt of Nepal, comparing the divergent ways in which Tharu ethnic activism and LGBTI+ activism have shaped the way the Jhumra is danced in the eastern and western Terai.
