Description
The pop-up show features a number of interactive exhibits, printed and digital works from Bibliotech. Together they explore new and playfully combined technologies such as: artificial intelligence, book scanners, speed readers, print on demand, and other reading-writing technologies. The pop up show operates as a sandpit for how tech can be integrated into the library context, and a chance to critically evaluate the jeopardy and opportunities for doing so.An accompanying workshop with the curator Nathan Jones will feature a short walk through of the works in the show, followed by a structured discussion around its themes. As well as exploring the core questions about hybrid books and archives, the workshop asks library professionals to consider their own position in relation to this art, as ‘expert audiences’.
