Unsecurities Lab 2

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesParticipation in conference - Academic

Description

Unsecurities Lab is a theme of Security Lancaster, where we use art/creative methods to practice foresight on complex inter-disciplinary issues – especially those where data and physical systems overlap. Unsecurities Lab cycles 1&2 used immersive art screenings in the University’s Data Immersion Suite to frame interdisciplinary conversations on security in relation to AI, marine, biology, archives, ecology, and other more-than-human actors. It was a platform for data science, environment and humanities colleagues to engage in deep discussion at the overlap of their disciplinary expertise. The artworks and reports presented at this event demonstrate a unique contribution arts can make to cutting edge issues in science, environment and technology. This 1 hour launch event for the reports is a chance to see immersive art works by Joey Holder, Abelardo Gil Fournier and Jussi Parikka, and help shape the future of the theme.
