Description

The Bay International Film Festival (TBIFF) is an annual film festival held in Morecambe, North West England, featuring live cinema screenings, awards ceremonies, and film-related events. Founded in 2023, the festival promotes international and Northern independent films while creating cultural dialogue between North West England audiences and the world, with a particular focus on its "Stories Beyond Borders" short film competition that showcases socially impactful cinema from filmmakers around the globe. The festival is committed to increasing cultural participation by removing financial barriers through free and low-cost tickets, childcare bursaries for single parents, and community film clubs with complimentary refreshments.

The festival's second edition in 2024 reached over 900 attendees across four weekends, with 45% of screened films directed by women as part of its "Women in Focus" theme, earning a 98.3% recommendation rate from participants.

The festival was co-founded by Dr Anna Henderson who is engaged in producing thewhole vent and undertaking an independed unfunded reseach on interdependence of economical background and cultural participation.
