Activity: Other activity typesTypes of Public engagement and outreach - Festival/Exhibition

Description

'Disruptive Histories' was an exhibition myself and Sebnem Balim Capkan, a colleague in the history department, have put together over May and June 2026 for the Social History Society's 50th anniversary conference last week. Our role was to curate an exhibition on the history of the society, its conference, and the development of the discipline of social history with a film created to showcase the opening in Lancaster University's Library exhibition space. I wrote the information boards and object labels whilst Sebnem was in charge of the design elements. The exhibition was open from 1 - 7 July 2026 within the library and was visited by over 100 people during the conference from 1 - 3 and many others working within the library.
